Judy Herzer

    Judy Kay Herzer, age 76, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. 
    Judy was born June 12, 1946 in Lubbock, Texas. She graduated from Lamesa High School. She married Allen Lee Herzer on August 9, 1993.  Together they were members of the Southcrest Baptist Church.  
    Judy spent her life taking care of people.  She was a paramedic in Ackerly for many years, then attended Texas Tech and obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in nursing and began her career at Covenant Hospital on South 5 and then on to several nursing facilities during her career as a Case Manager. She passed away where she began her nursing career on South 5 at Covenant.  
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Clarence King, Jr and Velma Catherine Widner, and a brother,  Bobby Wayne King, Sr.  
    Those left to cherish her memory are her three children; Tommy Staggs and wife Monica, Brent Staggs and wife Melissa and Janan McDaniel and husband, Rhett; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
    Celebration of life services will be held at the Southcrest Baptist Church at 11 am,  Monday, March 27, 2023 with Pastor Nick Watts officiating.
