Josefa 'Josie' Gutierrez

    Private service for Josefa V. “Josie” Gutierrez, age 74, of Lamesa, TX., will be held under the care of Branon Funeral Home.  
    Josie passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Lubbock, TX.     She was born March 19, 1946 in Robstown, TX. to Leopoldo Sr., and Casimira (Zepeda) Villegas. 
    Josie loved her Sunday bingos and bar-b-ques. She was a force to be reckoned with but a very generous lady who loved people and was always willing to help. 
    She is survived by her husband; Jose Manuel Gutierrez, Sr. of Lamesa, TX.; children, Mary Ann Salinas of Michigan, Ricky Salinas of Belen, N.M., Mary Ester Plaza of Lamesa, TX., Amando M. Salinas of Santa FE, N.M., Debra Ramirez of Plainview, TX., Katherine Cruz of Hobbs, N.M., Isabel Salinas of O’Donnell, TX., and Jesus Gutierrez of Palestine, TX.; sisters, Maria Baiz of Michigan and Elosia Bara of Lamesa, TX.; brothers, Leopoldo Villegas, Jr. and Johnny Villegas of Michigan; sixty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and ex-son-in-laws, Gilbert Rodriguez and Paulino Plaza who loved her dearly.
    She is preceded in death by her sons, Robert Salinas, Jose Manuel Gutierrez, Jr. and Mario Fidencio Gutierrez, Sr.; grandchildren, Robert Plaza, Jamie Salgado II and Bryanna Cruz; and numerous brothers and sisters.
