Johnny Montgomery

    Graveside service for John H. “Johnny” Montgomery, 87, of Lamesa will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Dawson County Cemetery in Lamesa, Texas with Pastor Dennis Adams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 12:00 PM – 1:30PM at Branon Funeral Home.
    Johnny passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 in San Angelo, Texas. 
    He was born December 2, 1932 to Jerome Perry and Lois Ann (Callaway) Montgomery in Lamesa, Texas. He married Carol Jones on August 14, 1951 in Lovington, N.M. and she then preceded him in death in 2008. 
    Johnny was a farmer and a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
    Johnny is survived his children; Bob Montgomery of Lamesa, Ben Montgomery of Lubbock, Shelley Jackson of Lubbock and Lisa Montgomery of San Angelo; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Ann Hogg.  
    He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Beth Brewer, Donald Montgomery and Perry P. Montgomery.
