Jessie Zapata
Jessie Armando Zapata, 59, of Lubbock passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 1, 1961 in Lamesa, Texas to Guadalupe and Aurora “Dora” (Flores) Zapata. He was married to Lydia (Garcia) Zapata. He was a manager of Amigos Grocery store in Lubbock for over twenty years.
His passion was playing pool, dancing, and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with his family, his dog, Myla and enjoyed barbecuing. He was full of life and lit up a room with his presence. He had a great sense of humor and was a very loving person.
Jessie is survived by his wife, Lydia Zapata of Lubbock; children, Jessica Mata and Adam Zapata both of Lubbock and Christina and Scott Linton of Plumas Lake, California; mother, Dora Zapata of Lubbock; sisters, Maria Rangel and husband, Joe of El Paso, Estella Rodriguez of Lamesa, Alice Beruman and husband, Tony of Lubbock and Erma Scott of Lubbock; brothers, Arturo Zapata and wife, Maria of El Paso, Ray Zapata and wife, Mary of Midland and Tony Zapata and wife, Donna of San Antonio; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews he loved so much. He will be greatly missed
Jessie is preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Zapata; infant twin son, Bryan Zapata; sister, Delia Marquez; and brother, Richard Zapata.
