Funeral service for Jan Taylor Walters, 80 of Lamesa will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Jim Medley officiating.
Internment will follow at O’Donnell Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Facial masks are required at all services.
Jan passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 in the comfort of her home in O’Donnell, Texas.
She was born January 16, 1940 in Lamesa, Texas to James and Merle (Link) Taylor. She married Kenneth Edward Walters June 6, 1958 in Lamesa, Texas at First Baptist Church. They were married for 55 years. She was the office secretary at Lamesa Middle School for 42 years. She cherished her job and loved ministering to the students and faculty. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deby Halfmann and husband, Jeff of O’Donnell; son, Scott Walters and wife, Karen of San Angelo; grandchildren, Trevor Halfmann and wife, Kayla of O’Donnell, Emily Errington and husband, Clayton of Lubbock, and Kassi Walters of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Kyndall Halfmann, Hank Halfmann, Tenley Errington and Aubree Errington; brother, Alan Taylor of Lubbock.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Jimmy Taylor; and sister, Nancy Norris.
