James Twomey
James A. Twomey passed peacefully away April 5, 2020, at the age of 96 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 17, 1923, in Electra, Texas, to Ben and Verna Twomey.
After graduating from Electra High School in 1942, James entered the US Army serving four years as a cook at Scofield Barracks in Hawaii. After his honorable discharge in 1946, he met and married Geraldine (Jerry) Latimer. James was a typewriter mechanic serving several businesses in West Texas.
Along with their daughter, Jan, they settled in Lamesa, Texas, where he retired in the mid 1980s. They later moved to Round Rock, Texas, and Jerry succumbed to cancer in 1999. James met and married Ariana (Annie) Quilaneta who gave him 20 very happy years.
In addition to spending time with his family, James enjoyed bowling, water skiing, traveling in his RV, playing 42, and billiards.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Jerry.
He is survived by his wife Annie of RoundRock, daughter Jan Nunn of Dallas, granddaughters Paula Chanda (Bob) of Lubbock and Shana Steed (Jeff) of Mansfield, Texas, great-granddaughters Keely Umstot of Lubbock, Whitney Steed and great-grandson Corey Steed, both of Mansfield.
His philosophy of life was Joshua 24:15, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
