Hulan Royce Murray
Graveside memorial service for Hulan Royce Murray, age 84, of Lamesa, will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Adams officiating. Visitation will be held at Branon Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.
Hulan passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Lamesa, Texas surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 18, 1940, in Tahoka, TX. to Thomas Jefferson and Maggie (Huffaker) Murray. He married Cindy Lee Houston in Houston, TX. they were married 43 wonderful years.
Hulan was a veteran of the United States Army. He was well known as the “Coffeeman” to many people all over the region and he worked up until his retirement at the age of 80. Hulan was all about family and was always willing to help with any type of project someone might have because he was such a great carpenter. He also loved working in his yard.
He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Hulan is survived by his children, Dana Kidd of College Station, Jay Murray of Lamesa, Kalli Bock and husband Rick of Lubbock, Ami Standefer and husband Marvin of Lamesa, and Brad Archer and wife Ettie of Lamesa; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren; and sister Wanda Rogers of Kansas City, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Maggie Murray; wife, Cindy Houston Murray; brothers, Phillip Murray, and James Murray; and sisters, Medina Conrad, and Mary Katherine McDonald.
