Guy Mitchell

    Graveside service for Guy Lynn Mitchell, 69, of Lamesa will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2020 at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Benny Greenlee officiating.  
    Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    Guy passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas.   
    He was born to John William and Frances (Cowen) Mitchell on October 11, 1951. He was a hard worker in the oil field industry as an offshore driller and roughneck. He loved spending time with his family, and the children loved being around him.  He enjoyed cooking and barbecuing. But most of all he had a great sense of humor. He was a devoted Christian man.
    Guy is survived by his children, Brandon Mitchell and wife, Sherry of Lamesa, David Mitchell of Lamesa, Roxanne Campos of Midland, Stephanie Chavarria of Lamesa, DeeAnna Foster Mitchell of Lovington, New Mexico; sister, Phyllis Crosby and husband, Scott of The Woodlands; brother, John Mitchell and wife, Delores of Lamesa; daughter in law, Kelly Johnston of Robert Lee; grandchildren, Nathan Lynn Mitchell, John Wesley Mitchell, Scarlett Mitchell, Natalie Chavarria, Andreana Raquel Campos, Ilana Navarrette, Anthony Navarrette, Kaylee McCracken and Caleb Foster; great-grandchildren, Chase Mitchell and Aubriella Mitchell; five step grandchildren;  two step great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Buster Douglas Mitchell.
