Gerardo 'Jerry' Aguayo
Funeral services for Gerardo (Jerry) Aguayo, age 59, of Grand Prairie, Texas (formerly of Lamesa) will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, December 6, 2019 at True Grace Church of Grand Prairie with Pastor Danny Ramos officiating and Pastor Jeremiah Aguayo assisting.
The burial committal will follow to the Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Grand Prairie Funeral Home of Grand Prairie Texas.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 with an inspirational service at 6:30 pm at True Grace Church.
Jerry passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2019 in Arlington.
He was born on April 30, 1960 in La Fe, Coahuila, Mexico. Jerry married Estella Ramirez on August 9, 1980 in Lamesa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Marina Aguayo, and his brother, David Aguayo.
Jerry loved the simple things in life. Jerry was a great story teller, adding his own twist to the stories. He was known for his delicious Bar-b-que that he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He enjoyed spending his summer vacations at the Frio River with his loved ones. He was a great fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Jerry also enjoyed playing softball with local and out-of-town leagues. He played the guitar and loved all types of music. Jerry never met a stranger and would go above and beyond to help anyone in need.
Jerry is survived by his family, his wife, Estella Aguayo of Grand Prairie; his son Jeremiah Aguayo and wife Laura of Lamesa; daughters, Stacey Elizarraras and husband Adan of De Soto, Vanessa Aguayo and Gabriella Aguayo of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Elijah, Naomi, Illiana, Isabella, Klarissa, Benjamin, Selah, Aubrey, Nylah and Micah; his brother, Jose Aguayo of Lamesa his sisters, Adriana Sauseda, Maria Hatchett and Elena Aguayo all of Lamesa; numerous nephews, nieces, uncle, cousins and friends left to cherish a lifetime of memories with Jerry.
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Aguayo, Elijah Elizarraras, Adan Elizarraras, Jose Aguayo, Rudy Aguayo, Pete Chavera, Danny Ruiz and Andy Amaro
