Florence Strickland

    Memorial service for Florence Vern Strickland, 99, of Lamesa will be held at a later time. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Florence passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in Lamesa, Texas. 
    She was born June 15, 1922 in White River, South Dakota to Cody and Alice (Boyden) Sinning.  She married Neil O. Strickland March 3,1946 in Lennox, South Dakota. They were married 51 years.  He preceded her in death April 10, 1997. 
    She was a registered nurse for many years at the local hospitals and schools. She was a member of Northridge Methodist Church of Lamesa for many years. 
    Florence is survived by her daughter, Alice Luan Collins and husband, Richard of Lamesa; grandchildren, Phillip Miers, Debbie Allen and Greg Collins; great grandchildren, Jaden Miers, Tyree Wilkes, Rhett Wilkes and Morgan Allen.
    She is preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Ramsborg and Jean Alice Kary.
