Fernando Flores

     A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Fernando Flores, age 74, of Lamesa, TX., at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with celebrant Fr. Chacko Thadathil officiating. 
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 10: a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Fernando passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his home in Lamesa, TX. 
    He was born February 25, 1948 in Mercedes, TX. 
    Fernando was preceded in death by his father, Isabel Flores and his mother, Isabel Flores; his son, Ramiro Flores; his brothers, Florentino Flores,  Santos Ybarra, Sr., and Richard Ybarra.
    Fernando was a lifelong farm laborer, enjoyed mechanic work, loved stargazing and looking for UFOs. He loved current news events, and was a living “Google” warehouse of information. He loved his big and diverse family and friends.
    Fernando is survived by his loving family, his brothers, Fidencio Flores of Welch/Lubbock, TX., Joe Ybarra of Lamesa, TX., George Llanez of Odessa, TX., Pedro Llanez of Andrews, TX., and Pat Llanez of Lamesa, TX.; his sisters, San Juana Luera and brother-in-law, Rogelio Luebano of O’Donnell, TX., Cleotilde (Tillie) Borrego and brother-in-law, Victor Borrego of Lamesa, TX., Guadalupe (Lupe) Rivas and wife, Lupe Rivas, and ex-partner, Yolanda Aguilar of Lamesa, TX.; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
