Emma Earlene Boone

Surrounded by family, Emma Earlene Boone finished her Earthly pilgrimage and arrived at her
eternal home on Nov. 17 th . She was born Nov. 19 , 1946 in Lamesa, Tx to the late Ray and Pearl Thomas. As one of the youngest of 12 children, she grew to be one of the hardest working
women. At only fifteen years old, Earlene met the love of her life, Olin Arnold Boone. It is then that Earlene began her greatest calling, being a wife and mother. Together they raised three children, which grew into 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. This led her to her most prized and well-known title of Granny.
Granny was a simple woman with a servant’s heart. She had known poverty at young age, and knew the tools to overcome it. She was an expert couponer.
Often finding deals and donating them to the local food bank, crisis center or others. She enjoyed taking care of the elderly and those in need of medical assistance. She was the rock of her family and often the glue that held
it together. She was known for having one of the strongest work ethics, but only after her 5 a.m. morning coffee. Her kitchen remained open 24/7 and her table always had an open chair. She was known for her green thumb and spent hours in her yard working within her beautiful flower gardens. As she traveled, she never hesitated to stop at a stranger’s or the side if the road to ‘grab a clipping’ to add to her own yard or to help her grandchildren add colors to theirs. Early in life she worked alongside her husband through the highs and lows of the oil industry. She was later found beside him on every project at their Glasscock County Ranch.
Through her elder years, she loved assisting on the loading pad, running errands and making sure lunch was attended to at Tradewind Ag. Service. Granny never turned down a chance to babysit her grandchildren or great grandchildren, and love getting to take them to all of their extra curricula activities.
Earlene was proceeded in death by her husband Olin A. Boone, son Glynn Boone, her parents and 10 siblings. She is survived by her children Patricia and Paul Bruton and Olin Arnold Jr.
Boone. Grandchildren Mary (Keith) Trochta, Arnold (Natasha) Boone, Casey Boone, Cricia (Jack) Ryan, Melissa (Joe) Campbell, Candice (Adam) Gurecky, and Clayton Bruton.
