    A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Elia Rendon of Lamesa, TX., at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with celebrate Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. 
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    A viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Monday April 3, 2023, and Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. , with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Elia passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at her residence in Lamesa, TX. 
    She was born February 26, 1962, in Lamesa, TX. Elia married Benjamin Rendon on June 23, 1979, in Lamesa, TX. 79331
    Elia was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Felipe Hernandez, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Rogelio Vela, Sr.; brothers, Pablo Hernandez, Felipe Hernandez, Jr., Roberto Vela; sisters, Adela Ochoa, Carmen Gaitan.
    Elia was a homemaker. She loved to play Loteria, listen to music, and make people laugh. She was always willing to help anyone and everyone.
    Elia is survived by her husband, Bejamin Rendon of Lamesa, TX.; her daughter, Anadelia Rendon and Leonardo Lopez of Lamesa, TX.; her sons, Benjamin Rendon, Jr., and Roman Rendon and Cassandra Rendon, all of Lamesa, TX.; her brothers, Jesus Vela and the late-Maria Guadalupe of Odessa, TX., Rogelio Vela, Jr. and Margaret of Lamesa, TX., Jose Vela and Lupe of Lamesa, TX.; her sisters, Minnie Martinez of Lubbock, TX., Maria Hernandez and Trinidad of San Antonio, TX., Maria Contreras and the late-Jose Luis Contreras of Lamesa, TX., Treenie Enriquez and Ruben Enriquez of Lamesa, TX., Rita Martinez and Manuel of Lamesa, TX., Rosa Torres and Frank Lopez of Lamesa, TX., Elizabeth Rodriguez and Gilbert of Lubbock, TX.; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Lupe Gaitan of Welch, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
