Elia Dora Lopez

    Funeral mass for Elia Dora Lopez, 86, of Lamesa will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating, assisted by Deacon Daniel Valenzuela. 
    Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and a rosary will be recited Sunday, August, 22, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.
    Elia Dora Juarez Lopez was born on December 5, 1934 in New Braunfels, Texas, where she was raised. She attended Lone Star Elementary. She met Flabio Lalo Lopez in Patricia, Texas where she and her family came to work in the cotton fields every summer until they met, fell in love, and were later married on November 25, 1951. 
    She was a homemaker until she went to work for Klondike Elementary (Flower Grove) from 1981 to 1986 in the cafeteria. She was an awesome cook, hard-working, loving, and was loved by many. She was a dedicated KPET radio listener and contributor every weekday, she remembered everyone’s birthday. She loved spending time with all of her family and friends, she loved phone calls, and having lots of company. She had many favorite pass times, she loved whistling while she worked, watching her Telenovelas, her Mexican Music Award shows, and she loved asking for her kids and grandkids to look her favorite songs up on YouTube. 
    She was a devout member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church, she was also a member of the Crusillistas, and absolutely loved attending her 11:15 Sunday masses. 
    She is preceded in death by her husband Flabio Lopez; her parents Antonia and Tomas Juarez, Sr.; brothers Tomas Juarez, Jr. and Jose Juarez; sister Catarina Serna; sons Ernest Lopez and Sammy Lopez; sons-in-law Rudy Arredondo, Luciano Reyes, Cristin Moreno; and grandchildren Justin Arredondo, Ernest Lopez, Jr., Mary Elizabeth Lopez and Flabio Tomas “Lalito” Lopez. 
    She is survived by her four daughters Silvia Arredondo, Mary Lopez, Irma Lopez Moreno, Elsa Lopez Reyes; sister Maria Alanis of New Braunfels; daughter-in-law Margarita Lopez; grandchildren Javier Arredondo, Adrian Arredondo (Veronica), Christopher Lee Arredondo, Marcos Antonio Lopez (Jennifer), Yvette Lopez Dombo (Jimmy), Ernest Lopez, Jr. (Vanessa), Analyza Lopez Reyes, Carlos Emmanuel Moreno, Isaac Luciano Reyes, Elizabeth Rodriguez (Alex), Cristina Perez Arguijo (Tommy), Sylvia Perez-Acosta (Eric); great-grandchildren Marcus Arredondo, Elias Arredondo, Victoria Arredondo McGuire (Joshua), Adrian Arredondo, Jr., Jacqueline Arredondo, Noah Arredondo, Jennifer Rudi Arredondo, Justin Lee Arredondo, Leticia Lopez, Anthony Lopez, David Acosta and Marisela Acosta, Lucero Kristina Hernandez, Jacob Dombo, Joseph Dombo, Jacqueline Dombo; great-great-grandchildren, Phoenix Arredondo, Olivia Arredondo, Camilla Arredondo and Noah Rangel. 
    She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law which she adored and loved, and numerous nephews and nieces. 
    Pallbearers: Javier Arredondo, Adrian Arredondo, Christopher Lee Arredondo, Marcos Antonio Lopez, Ernest Lopez, Jr., Carlos Emmanuel Moreno and Isaac Luciano Reyes. Honorary Pallbearers: Yvette Lopez Dombo, Analyza Lopez Reyes and Victoria Arredondo McGuire.
