Duane Snell

    Funeral service for Duane Snell, 73, of Lamesa will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church with Pastor Tobey Clements officiating. 
    Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
    Duane passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Lamesa, Texas.  
    He was born July 15, 1947 in Lamesa to F.E. “Bud” and Phyllis (Wilson) Snell.  He married Vickie Smith March 29, 1969 in Lamesa. They were married 51 years. He farmed in the Klondike Community for many years and later became a crop insurance agent for Matlock & Associates for 30 plus years. He was an avid golf player and enjoyed playing the bass guitar to bluegrass and country music. 
    Duane is survived by his wife, Vickie Snell of Lamesa; children, Traci Stokes and husband, Brad of Lubbock, and Bradley Snell of Lamesa; mother, Phyllis Snell of Lamesa; sister, Jolene Haney of Marble Falls; two grandsons, Deakin Stokes and wife, Sara, and Dalton Stokes all of Lubbock; and one great granddaughter, Harper Jane Stokes of Lubbock.  
    He is preceded in death by his father.
