Dora Torres Gutierrez

    Dora Torres Gutierrez “Mamita” age 88 years old, went to meet her Maker on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by her family.
    Dora “Mamita” was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Mamita was loved by everyone she met - for she considered everyone family! Mamita loved the outdoors, especially loved working in her yard with all her plants...Mamita had a green thumb and could grow anything.
    Dora is proceeded in death by her husband, Genaro Gutierrez Sr., her daughter Elizabeth Gutierrez, her sons Oscar Gutierrez, Genaro Gutierrez Jr., and Daniel Gutierrez.
    Dora is survived by her sister, Patricia Torres, and her children; Juan Gutierrez, Margarita Jimenez, Joe Angel Gutierrez, Marilyn Gutierrez, Lucy Gutierrez, Erline Covarrubias, Susie Heald, Monseis Gutierrez, Paula Gutierrez, Ishmael Herrera, Sally Hinojosa, Robert Gutierrez, and Jesse Gutierrez. Dora’s nephews and nieces; Yolanda Torres, Eloy Torres, Sophia Torres, Rita Olvera, Saul Torres, and Ides Torres. Dora’s daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, 69 grandchildren, 125 great grandchildren, and 29 great-great grandchildren, all of whom Mamita loved.
    Public viewing will be at Branon Funeral Home Chapel at 403 N. Austin Avenue on Thursday, January 16, 2025 and Friday, January 17, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prayer service will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Jim Medley.
    Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Medley officiating. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home.
    Serving as pallbearers are Alex Herrera, Juan Gutierrez, Irma Pang, Alberto Hinojosa, Carlos Hinojosa, Genaro Gutierrez III, Bobby Gutierrez, , Francisco J. Jimenez, Genaro Gutierrez Jimenez. Honorary pallbearers are Joe David Gutierrez and Sgt. OJ Anthony Gutierrez.
    The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff on the Faith Tower Unit as well as Mercy Tower Unit at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Mamita was blessed to have had Steve Ruiz with Home Health in Lamesa as her home health care nurse...Steve was so loving and caring to Mamita and she loved him dearly.
    The family would also like to give thanks to all of the family and friends that have been a blessing during this difficult time.
