Davie Michael Jones

    Let it be known, Davie Michael “Mike” Jones presented his grande finale and made his exit. On Wednesday. June 12th, 2019, Mike Jones, loving father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 80. 
    He was born on July 5th, 1938 in Lamesa, Texas and he never left. Born to Davie Maurice Jones and Nelva Jones, he was in the real estate and car business all his life. 
    A lover of all things music and art, he had a phenomenal appreciation for the finer things. He was known for his quick wit, soft spoken voice, kind, compassionate spirit, and quite frankly for being one cool cat. He thought outside the box and made you reconsider. He saw the good in people and extended himself to everyone, regardless of demographic. 
    He is survived by his son, Davie Matthew Jones; grandson, Davie Apollo Jones; his daughter-in-law, Fungai Patience Jones; his sisters; and nieces and nephews. 
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 18th, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at Branon Funeral Home Chapel, 403 North Austin Avenue, in Lamesa, Texas.
    Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery with a meal and visitation afterward at the Davie Jones dealership, 310 South 3rd Street, in Lamesa.
