A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Sgt. Daniel Valenzuela, Jr., age 37, of Odessa, TX. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Lamesa High School Auditorium with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating, and assisted by Deacon Saul Hernandez, together with ECHD PD funeral ceremony.
Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing and visitation will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church together with Deacon Daniel Valenzuela, Sr., on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with Rosary Prayer services at 7:00 p.m.
Daniel passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in San Antonio, TX.
He was born on February 29, 1984 in Lamesa, TX. Daniel married April Gayle Thrower on September 4, 2010 in Lamesa, TX.
He was preceded in death his father, Deacon-Daniel Valenzuela, Sr.; his grandmothers, Anita Valenzuela, and Andrea Iglesias Uvalle.
Police Sgt. Daniel Valenzuela, Jr. was employed with the ECHD/Ector County Hospital District Police Department in Odessa, TX. His hobbies included, cooking, grilling, concerts, his grandchildren, Star Wars, TV, family, Starbuck runs, pedicures, music, and was a servant for God, and his community friends.
Daniel is survived by his wife, April Valenzuela of Odessa, TX.; his mother, Susana Valenzuela of Lamesa, TX.; his son, Daniel Cuauhtemoc Valenzuela, III,; his daughters, Destiny Valenzuela, Arianna Valenzuela-Ordonez (Jando), Jasmeen Valenzuela (Vicente), Danie Valenzuela, all of Odessa, TX.; his grand-daughter, Camille Ordonez, and his grandson, Psalm Ordonez, both of Odessa, TX.; his sisters, Mayte Meza (Rick), Maricruz Valenzuela (Brandon), and Daniela Valenzuela, all of Lamesa, TX.; several relatives and friends.
Honoring Sgt. Daniel Valenzuela, Jr. as Pallbearers are, Luis Garcia-OPD, Danny Brookshire, Donnie Jowers, David Parker, Kelly Cecil, Reyes Nunez.
