Carl Ray Douglas
Funeral service for Carl Ray Douglas, 58, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Mike Prather officiating and Royce Riggin assisting.
Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Branon Funeral Home.
Carl Ray passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in Lamesa, Texas.
He was born September 10, 1962, in Lamesa, Texas to Ray and Alma (Henderson) Douglas. He married Cathy Brown June 14, 1986, in Lamesa, Texas. They were married for 35 years.
Carl Ray worked for Automated Controls from 1983-2019. He also raised and showed pigs with 4-H and FFA for over ten years and was an avid fan of horseracing and Ruidoso. He was a rancher for five years in Tatum, NM and loved to hunt and fish. He was a fan of Texas Tech and coached little league baseball for many years.
Carl Ray is survived by his wife, Cathy Douglas of Lamesa; children, Rayce Douglas and Kara Jones and Quade Douglas and Teniell Bly; grandson, Peyson Powell; sisters, LaWanda Sanders and husband, Martin of Lamesa and LaDonna Van Horn and husband, Del of Nebraska; nieces and nephews, Cole Hanshew, Drew Hanshew ,Steelie Sanders, and Rexie Sanders; sister-in-law Christy Sanchez and husband, Art of Lubbock; and father and mother in-law Raymond and Jenny Witte of Lamesa.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
