Bob Boardman
The funeral service for Bob Boardman, age 84, of Lindale, Texas, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at First Baptist Church Chapel in Lamesa, Texas with Rev. Jim Medley and Pastor Brad Fountain officiating.
Interment will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Bob entered through Heaven’s gates Sunday, April 24, 2022, at his home in Lindale.
He was born April 30, 1937, in Santa Anna, Texas to the late Jesse Morgan and Mary Malneta (Tune) Boardman. Bob served his country in the United States Army National Guard and in his early years worked as a farmer and a bi-vocational music minister in Stratford, Texas. Bob later received a Seminary Diploma in Pastoral Ministries from the Southwestern Baptist Extension Program of the Amarillo Baptist Association. For over 40 years, Bob served as Music Minister for First Baptist Church in Stratford, Texas and South Lawn Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas. He was known for his love of serving the Lord through his music and for his joyful, gracious, and loving spirit. He was a member of the Amarillo Chapter of Baptist Singing Men of Texas, enjoyed golfing, wood working, traveling to the mountains and spending time with his beloved wife and family.
Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Nannette Boardman Barrett and brothers, Sanford and James Boardman.
Bob is survived by his wife, Olinda Boardman of Lindale, TX; son, Morgan Boardman and wife, Teresa of Lindale, TX; son-in-law, Danny Barrett of Lubbock, TX; brother, Nathan Boardman and wife, Carolyn of Crosbyton, TX; sister, Mary Allred of Roscoe, TX; grandchildren, Taylor Boardman of Glenwood Springs, CO, Calvin Brooks Barrett of Denver City, TX; Lynnsey Flowerday and husband, Alec of Glenwood Springs, CO, Baylee Barrett of Los Angeles, CA, Kassi Fountain and husband, Brad of Longview, TX; 3 great grandchildren and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Boardman, Mark Boardman, Troy Johnson, Taylor Boardman, Calvin Brooks Barrett, and Alec Flowerday.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa.
