Amador passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home in Lamesa, TX. on Wednesday,
October 2, 2024. He was born on July 7, 1960, in Smyer, TX. In 1995 Amador married Lana Suzanne King.
Amador G. Torres was a music enthusiast who enjoyed playing multiple instruments for his church
and community. Amador also was known to compose, play, and record his own music. He first discovered his love for music as a teenager listening to his favorite band “The Beatles”. He even
named his daughters in honor of them. Amador enjoyed traveling, trying new cuisines, restoring classic cars, the serenity of the ocean, and spending quality time with family and friends. Amador was a man of many talents and could repair almost anything mechanical. His daughters would often say, “If it’s broken, my daddy can fix it.” Amador was a man of strong faith and devoted his life to our Lord and Savior. Amador worked many years for Leatherwood Plumbing in Lamesa, TX., as a maintenance tech in Houston, TX., as well as a tech for Rudy’s Central Heat and Air. It was
common in any given evening to see both Amador and his great friend Gary Barron playing their guitars and singing in a little corner of the local McDonald’s restaurant of Lamesa, TX. Because of Amador’s great passion for the music, he carried his lead guitar most wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his mother Consuelo Garcia Perez and his father Jose Torres, his wife Lana King-Torres, and grandson Vicent King.
Amador is survived by his daughters Cynthia Torres, Michelle Smith, and Jennifer Torres, all of Houston, TX., and his daughters’ mother Celia Torres of Houston, TX, his grandchildren Christopher Shane Smith, Jr., Chloe Jade Smith, Bella Marie Pasquale-Torres, great grandson Christoper Allen Smith, son-in-law Christopher Shane Smith and Charlotte, all of Houston, TX., his
sisters Maria Contreras (Trinidad) of Lamesa, TX., and Patricia Haider (Waseem) of Rosenberg, TX., his brothers, Juan Torres (Lisa) of Houston, TX., Felipe Torres (Irene), all of Houston, TX., and Jesse Pantoja (Margarita) of Eagle Pass, TX. Lastly, Amador will be missed by family and friends. His spirit will live on until we meet again in Heaven.
