‘Soni’ Fancher McClarney

Soni Fancher McClarney, 64, went to be with her Lord peacefully in her home in Kingsland, Texas on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
Soni was born August 11, 1956, in Levelland, TX. She was the daughter of Doyle and Linda Fancher of Lamesa. She was one of four children, sisters Debbie Fancher of Lamesa and Jackie Williams of Horseshoe Bay, and brother Steve Fancher.
Soni grew up in Lamesa and attended Klondike and Lamesa high schools. She also attended New Mexico Jr. college majoring in Computer Science.
Growing up, Soni enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, and track. As an adult she enjoyed fishing and boating and loved planting and harvesting her garden. Her favorite color was purple, and her favorite flower was a daisy. She enjoyed a delicious meal of crab legs, steak and a baked potato. She loved to paint and was very artistic.
Soni was full of life and was one of the most tender-hearted people you ever met. She would go above and beyond to help a friend or family member out as best as she could. She was a hard worker and enjoyed manual labor and helping make things beautiful again.
Soni lived in Lubbock for about 14 years.  During that time she was the beverage manager at the Holiday Inn on Ave Q from 1986 to 1993. It was then that she met and married Rhett McClarney in 1988.
She moved to Kingsland, TX in 2000 and worked for TJM Realty Group on and off for the past 21 years.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Fancher, and brother-in-law, Jerry Don Williams.
Soni is survived by her husband Rhett McClarney; her parents Doyle and Linda Fancher of Lamesa; her 3 daughters Ginger Brewer of Dallas, Gina Mills of Colorado, April Smith of Austin, and stepson, Matt McClarney of Round Rock; her sons-in-law, Reagan Smith and Jacob Mills and daughter-in-law, Amy McClarney; her grandchildren Tayler, Chase, Carson, CeCe, Gunner, Luci, and Quinn; along with numerous family and friends.
Private services will be held for family and close friends on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m at the First Baptist Church of Lamesa, Tx, with pastor Jim Medley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to a charity of your choice.
