Jesus A. Ramos (Tony)
A Catholic Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Jesus A. Ramos (Tony) age 70 of Lamesa, TX. at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Deacon Saul Hernandez officiating. The burial committal will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Rosary prayer services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Jesus A. Ramos (Tony) was born May 1, 1954, in Lamesa, TX. Tony passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. surrounded by his wife Linda. He was a 1974 graduate of Lamesa High School. Tony married the love of his life Linda Cortez in August 1974 in Lamesa, TX. Tony was a known and respected mechanic for over 50 years. After graduating from high school Tony started working at A.G. Waugh Company where he learned and became head machinist later transitioned back to parts sales service tech of which is now known as Napa Auto Parts.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Ramos; brothers, Elroy Ramos, Gabriel Ramos, Julian Ramos, Fernando Ramos, Henry Ramos, and Rudy Ramos; great-grandson, Alston Jae Thomas; nephew, TJ Hernandez; best buds, Tony Hernandez, Fidel Castilla, and Alex Carrion. Tony was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic church. Tony was a senor 3rd Degree member of the Lamesa Knights of Columbus Council 7953 organization for over 30 years where he served alongside his fellow brother Knights local community event fundraiser projects where he was known as the Master of the famous “Char Burger”. He enjoyed being a Pappi; working on anything his friends brought him to fix. Tony gave so much of his time to his beloved family and friends. His garage was his favorite place where he enjoyed listening to his Tejano music jams drinking cold Miller Lite’s with anyone who stopped by to visit. He was competitive in Horseshoes here he loved to earn “bragging rights”. Tony was the oldest of 12
siblings and gave each one of them his tough love, and plenty of wisdom when needed. Dancing with Linda was always a sight to see. Fishing with his sons and grandsons was a great joy for him. Tony gave love to anyone he crossed paths with, especially to his kid’s best friends that he always made sure to give a loveable lecture every time.
Tony is survived by his wife, Linda C. Ramos of Lamesa, TX.; sons, Jessie Ramos (wife-Yolanda) of Greeley, Colorado, Gabriel Ramos (wife-Elizabeth) of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Monica Ramos of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren, Kas Ramos of Lamesa, Jared Ramos, Mia Paradez, Marcus Ramos all of Greeley, Colorado, Drakelin Rosas of Greeley, Colorado, Ronnie Barrioz, Julie Barrioz, Katie Barrioz, all of Wichita, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Kyle Ramos, Kaiden Ramos, Aaron Chapa, all of Lamesa, Savanah Rodriguez, Louie Rodriguez, Noah Rodriguez, Jacob Rodriguez, Caleb Rodriguez, Kason Rodriguez, Bella Rodriguez, all of Wichita, Kansas; brothers, Rojelio Ramos and Felipe Ramos of Lamesa, TX.; sisters, Eva Castillo of Seminole, TX., and Rosa Ramos of Lamesa, TX.; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, numerous relatives and friends.
Honoring Tony as his pallbearers are, Tommy Flores, Evaristo Acevedo, Jose Aguayo, Benito Barrera, Juan Ramirez, Willie Ortiz.
