A 93-year-old woman lost her life after she was hit and injured by a City of Lamesa garbage truck in the early afternoon of Nov. 7.The accident happened around 12:37 p.m. at 122 NE 27th Street. The address is location of the Lamesa Seniors Center, a residential facility for senior citizens and disabled residents.Lamesa Police Department officers and Medical Arts Hospital’s Emergency Medical Services paramedics responded to the accident, according to a Wednesday afternoon press release from Police Chief Josh Peterson.Betty Mooney was transferred to University Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock where she succumbed to her injuries.The unnamed garbage truck ...
