Betty Sue Winford

Graveside service for Betty Sue Winford, 82, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Adams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Branon Funeral Home, Friday, October 4, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    Betty passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 in Lubbock. She was born on October 24, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Walter James and Maxine Inez (Abbott) Thompkins. She married Kenneth Winford on October 7, 1971 in Lamesa, Texas and they were married 50 wonderful years.
    Betty worked at both Lamesa National Bank and First National Bank for many years and taught Sunday School at Second Baptist Church for many years also. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards with her ladies group and was a great cake decorator. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
    Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Maxine Thompkins; and sister, Shirley Cross.
    She is survived by her children, Cassandra Wilkerson and husband Delbert of Lamesa, Tx., Mark Winford and wife Kim of Corpus Christi, Tx., and Pat Richards and husband Bill of Lubbock, Tx.; grandchildren, Meggan Fitzpatrick (Brian) of Prosper, Tx., Zachary Wilkerson of Frisco, Tx. Amber Beaty (Chris) of Odessa, Tx., Jason Gary (Tina) of Benicia, CA., Kacy Young (John) of Tatum, Tx., Addie Winford (Ourense) of Spain, Aleesha Zissa (Kris) of Corpus Christi, Tx. and Amanda Winford of Denton, Tx.; great grandchildren, Kennedy Fitzpatrick, Parker Beaty, Emilee Birdsell, Willow Gary, Vanna Young, Vivee Young, Knox Young, Vayda Young, and on the way… Elliana Jo Zissa; great-great grandchildren, Walker Beaty and Decker Birdsell; many nieces and nephews, and her dog Tucker whom she loved very much.
