A 5K Run/Walk fund raiser for childhood cancer research is being held in Ackerly early Monday evening.The athletic fund raiser begins at 7 p.m. at the Ackerly Volunteer Fire House. The entry fee is $20. There will be $5 pulled pork sandwiches, $1.50 lemonades, T-shirts and bracelets sold during the event.Proceeds from entry fees and sales from the ‘Love for Lane’ fund raiser will benefit the ‘Cure Starts Now Foundation’.Runners and walkers can register on the day of the event.September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
