    Funeral service for Stephen Thomas Hooper, 61, of Lamesa will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 1:30 until service time at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.
    Stephen passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in Lamesa, Texas. He was born June 14, 1963, in Lamesa, Texas to William and Betty (Drury) Hooper. Stephen loved his smokes, cokes and Cowboys. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved watching TV. He was known for walking around Lamesa with a coke bottle on his head. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
    Stephen is survived by his loving family, sister, Ruby Rowe and husband, Jim of Lamesa; brothers, Michael Hooper and wife, Mary Ann of Monahans, and P.R. Hooper of Roby; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Diana Deasy and Bodie Hooper; and sister in law, Evette Hooper.
