An article, published in the Aug. 23 issue, contained an error in a story about Dawson County’s Keetch-Byran Drought Index (KBDI) rating.It stated the county’s rating of 575 was the third highest rating in the state.It was not. The rating is the third highest among eight counties officials keep track of to determine whether to enact burn bans.Howard County came in second among the list with 620 and Borden County had a rating of 593.County officials also keep tabs on the KBDI ratings of Gaines, Martin, Lynn, Terry and Andrews counties.
