Esmeralda Ogeda
Funeral Service for Esmeralda Ogeda, 43, of Lamesa, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Sylvester Dsouza officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Viewing will begin at Branon Funeral Home in the chapel on Wednesday, August 21st at 4:00 p.m. Rosary will be said on Wednesday, August 21st and Thursday, August 22nd at 7:00 p.m. on both evenings at Branon Funeral Home.
Our beloved daughter, sister, mother and wife went to her eternal resting place August 17, 2024.
Esmeralda was born in Lamesa, Texas on January 30, 1981 to Abaristo and Lucia (Lopez) Ogeda. She was the youngest of 5 kids.
Esmeralda was a graduate from Lamesa High School in 1999. She went on to study Psychology at Angelo State University. While in college she met her husband, Jerrid Cairo. They moved to Abilene where she went back to school and got her LVN degree. She gave birth to her only daughter Mia in May of 2005. Her first job was with Abilene Diagnostics and Abilene Physicians Group working in a clinic setting. She did a registered nurse transition program which she completed in 2021. She worked for approximately one year for the Abilene Hendricks Hospital system before becoming ill.
Esmeralda loved to play volleyball, hang out with family and friends, and involve herself in all activities revolving around Mia.
Esmeralda is survived by her parents, Abaristo and Lucia Ogeda of Lamesa, TX.; husband Jerrid Cairo and daughter Mia of Abilene, TX.; brothers, Ernest Ogeda and wife Dora Martinez of Lamesa, TX., and Fidel Ogeda and wife Vanessa of Midland, TX.; sister, Anna Ruiz and husband Edward of Lamesa, TX.; Sister-in-law Nancy Ogeda of Lamesa, TX.; brother-in-law Quinn Cairo V and wife Irasema; and sister-in-law Kelsey and Cody Bullock of Abilene, TX.
She was preceded in death by brother, Johnny Joe Ogeda of Lamesa, TX.; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Quinn Cairo IV and Beverly Cairo of Abilene, TX.
Honoring as pallbearers will be, Nathan Ruiz, Diego Martinez, Christian Ruiz, Marcos Ogeda, Julian Zapata, Kaleb Ruiz, Jayden Zapata, Juan Ogeda, Jr., David Ogeda and Joe Ogeda.
