Helen Vandivere

    Graveside service for Helen Vandivere, 85, of Lamesa, will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Hancock Cemetery with Pastor Robert Burke officiating. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Burke officiating.     
    Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    Helen passed away August 11, 2024, in Lamesa, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 18, 1938, to K.E. Stephens and Mable (Jones) Stephens in Lamesa, Texas. 
    She married David Vandivere in July of 1956, in Lamesa, Texas. They were married 68 years. 
    Helen worked as a substitute teacher for many years. She also worked alongside her husband farming and running cattle. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and painting. 
    Helen was a member of First Methodist Church for many years, she played the piano for the Carol Choir and men’s bible Sunday school class.
    She is survived by her husband, David Vandivere of Lamesa; son, Jamie Stephen Vandivere and Kindra Ivey of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Crystal Smith, Lisa Murph, Rusty Smith, and Kenna Logan; three great grandchildren, Jordan Sherrod and husband, Callaghan, Taden Logan and Kalen Logan; and daughter in laws, Susan Vandivere and Karla Webb.
    Helen is preceded in death by her parents; son, Doyce Lane Vandivere; and brother, Joe Stephens.
