The Lamesa Police Department is hosting its first “Blue Hearts: School Starts” program to help get youngsters ready for the first day of school next month.They are holding the event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday at North Elementary School. The school is located at 601 N. 14th Street.Lamesa students return to school Aug. 13.There will be free hot dogs and beverages, along with bouncers for the kids.
