Graveside service for Carolyn Hogg, 77, of Lamesa will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Adams officiating. A Celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church on Thursday, July 18, 2024, with Pastor Dennis Adams officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
Carolyn Hogg passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born March 31, 1947, in Lamesa, Texas to Dee and Marcella Breeding. She married Edward Lee “E.L.” Hogg on April 9, 1965 in Lamesa, Texas. They were married 59 years.
Carolyn was a nurse for many years at Medical Arts Hospital and was the Cardiac Rehab Coordinator when she retired. She loved taking care of others. She was involved with Mission Service Corps, Disaster Relief, Rio Grande River Ministry, and WMU (Women’s Missionary Union). She enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch, spending time with friends and family, and loving on her grandkids. She was also known for making awesome cherry pies, Mac and cheese, and deviled eggs. Anyone that knew her knew that she liked to talk, and her favorite subjects to talk about were Jesus and her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband E.L. Hogg ; her children, Elbert Hogg and wife, Blyth of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Michelle Kee and husband, Thomas of Lamesa; Pat Heaverlo and husband, Todd of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and, Sheriff Matt Hogg and wife, Gina of Lamesa; sister, Sharon Trumble and husband, Charles of Lubbock; grandchildren, Serena Zamora, Carolyn Zamora, Annalise TaFoya, Elias Lee Hogg, Levi Hogg, Breanna Hogg, Brycen Hogg, Thomas J. Kee and wife, Sara, Sarah Kee, Nathan Heaverlo and wife Jessica, Josh Heaverlo and wife, Brittany and Collen Heaverlo; great grandchild, Reagan Heaverlo; and her Aunt Mary Hudgins of Lewisville. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jeanne Ray Deatherage.
Pallbearers to honor her are: Tom Kee, Brady Nelson, Nathan Heaverlo, Josh Heaverlo, Paul Jones and Brycen Hogg. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Kee, Todd Heaverlo, Elias Hogg and Levi Hogg.
