Lamesa City Council members gave City Manager Joe Hines the go ahead Tuesday to apply for a $50,000 grant to offset the construction cost of a possible fitness center in a local park.They didn’t approve the National Fitness Campaign project; just gave permission in the search for additional funding to pay for the $225,000 plan.Hines presented the idea to council members about two years ago.
