Lamesa High School (LHS) educator Christine Vera may be leaving the school district, but she won’t be far away.She officially retires June 28 when her contract with the school district ends. After that, she’ll head to the Head Start facility Aug. 1. She’ll begin training as the new education coordinator under the guidance of her former seventh grade teacher and basketball coach, Sarah Bartlett, who plans to retire in March 2025.You could say she’s returning back to where she began.The 1986 LHS graduate once taught fourth graders at the V.Z.
