David Edward Lee
David Edward Lee, 74, of Breckenridge formerly of Lamesa passed away peacefully at home with his wife and children by his side on May 21, 2024.
David was born November 29, 1949, in Lamesa, TX. to Trice Lee and Ruth E. (Knight) Lee.
He married Denise McReynolds on July 5, 1972. They were married 52 wonderful years.
David grew up a farmer’s son, where he was instilled with his values of hard work ethic, humility and his strong faithful relationship with God. This is a part of him that continues to carry on through generations. His love for the outdoors was something to be admired. But his love for Denise is something many can only hope to find. He was a man of great pride and compassion. Seeing his children and grandchildren happy was a highlight. David was a man that left a happy and welcoming impression on anyone he met.
David was a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he received his bachelor’s degree.
He retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
David is survived by his loving wife, Denise Lee of Breckenridge; two daughters, Jennifer Shew and Stephanie Miller both of Andrews; five grandchildren, Trenton Shew, Jayton Miller, Skylar Miller, Brylee Morris and Emi Shew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Trice and Ruth Lee, son; David Lee, Jr. and sister, Carolyn Fugate.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church in Lamesa, Tx, with Pastor Curtis Lloyd officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
A private burial will be held at Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home.
