Two business owners of a new restaurant and a very familiar shop on the downtown square received financial grants for their upgrading projects.Lamesa Economic Development Corporation and Lamesa Economic Alliance Project (LEAP) board members agreed to both owners’ grant requests for funding Monday.The LEAP board approved a Lamesa Business Grant application from McCalls’ Gifts by Julie, a boutique owned by Ashley Friesen at 112 Austin Ave., at a total cost of $3,700 with LEAP’s reimbursement of $1,850.The funds will cover the cost to update the Point of Sale system and the storage shelving in the back.The board granted a request ...
