The Borden County Coyotes opened their 2024 high school baseball season by winning two out of three games in last weekend’s Hamlin Pied Piper Wooden Bat Tournament.The Coyotes dropped their season opener to Ira, 9-3, in a game stopped after three innings on the time limit.“We struggled in our first game with errors and passed balls,” Borden County Coach Phil Behrens said.The Coyotes got their first win on the diamond later on Thursday, slugging past Class 2A Cross Plains, 13-5.The Coyotes’ Hagan Gordon pitched the first inning of that game.
