A series of free educational programs in Lamesa on Alzheimer’s and dementia got underway this week and will continue through March 26.The Alzheimer’s Association’s West Texas Chapter is presenting the training programs through the Texas A&M AgriLife Exension.The programs are being held at Medical Arts Hospital.The Alzheimer’s Associaton reports that Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging, and the educational programs are designed to empower community members with the right information and resources so they can take the first step toward living well with a diagnosis.Recently-released countylevel prevalence data shows that Dawson County has a 13.3-percent prevalence of Alzheimer’s ...
