Francisca (Frances) Lopez

    A Catholic Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Francisca (Frances) Lopez age 64 of Lamesa, TX., at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Chacko officiating. The burial will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Prayer service on Monday and Tuesday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Francisca passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024, in Lubbock, TX., surrounded by her family. She was born on January 25, 1960, in Elgin, TX. to the late Margarito and Vicenta Renteria.
    She was married to the love of her life Carlos Lopez on May 3, 2000, at their home in Lamesa, TX. Carlos helped her raise her 6 daughters as his very own.
    Francisca was preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Vicenta Renteria; her siblings, Juan Renteria, Sr., Jesse Renteria, Jose Renteria, Augustina Medina, Lucia Renteria, Josephina Renteria, and Lucinda Renteria.
    Frances worked as a school custodian for the Lamesa ISD, and with the Midland ISD, and later retired after serving over 30 years in that capacity. She was a great Mom. She loved playing with her grandchildren, enjoyed playing Bingo, loved her puppies, gardening, painting, and loved watching her “Novelas”. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
    Francisca is survived b her husband, Carlos Lopez of Lamesa, TX.; her daughters, Anna Tejeda of
Victoria, TX., Joann Salas (Jesus) of Lamesa, TX., Elain Reyna (James) of Brownfield, TX., Jessica Olivas (Armando) of Brownfield, TX., Marissa Hernandez of Brownfield, TX., and Cassandra Flores (Shawn) of Brownfield, TX.; her sisters, Sylvia Luna of Lubbock, TX., Petra Gonzalez of Lubbock, TX., Mary Garza of Big Spring, TX., Rosa Barrera of Lamesa, TX., and Dora Garza of Midland, TX.; her brothers, Margarito Renteria, Jr. of Lamesa, TX., Katarino Renteria of Lamesa, TX., and Daniel Renteria of Midland, TX.; her sister-in-law, Esmeralda Lopez of Lamesa, TX., her brother-in-law, Rey Lopez of
Lamesa, TX., her brother-in-law, Tony Lopez and her sister-in-law, Norma Lopez of Lamesa, TX.; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; his nephew, Brandal Lopez of Lubbock, TX., and his niece, Anna Lopez of Dallas, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
    Honoring Francisca Lopez as her pallbearers are, Jesus “Chuy” Salas, James Reyna, Armando Olivas, Ross Garcia, Zachary Olivas, James Reyna, Jr., Ethan Rodriguez, Jordan Diaz, Carmelo Diaz.
