Sands’ girls basketball team finished its season in strong fashion winning 12 out of their last 16 games.But the Mustang girls didn’t have quite enough in the tank last Friday night at Post where they ran into the Jayton Jaybirds. The Jaybirds turned out being a little too much, sending Sands’ ladies home with the 40-20 defeat.“That score doesn’t reflect how hard our girls played,” Sands Coach Sean Kennedy said.Sands’ girls were down 11-2 at the end of the first quarter.“We missed three tight shots in that first quarter which if we had made the score would have been 11-8,”
