The start of 2024 hasn’t been a good one when it comes to sales tax allocations distributed by the State Comptroller’s Office in Austin to Dawson County and the City of Lamesa.Both the county and the city experienced drops in this month’s sales tax rebates in comparison to the rebates they collected in January 2023.Dawson County experienced a 23.65-percent drop in its monthly allocation. It collected $123,641.14 this month.
