City Manager Joe Hines informed city council members Tuesday about the progress on renovating an existing storage building into animal shelter.City officials have been revamping the municipal building, once used as storage space, in an effort to find bigger accommodations for the growing number of stray and abandoned dogs.The city has an animal shelter near the landfill, but it is too small to keep up with the growing problem of canines without homes.“We’re well into our second year,” Hines said about the project.They put aside $50,000 in this year’s budget, along with another $50,000 unspent in the 2022-2023 budget, to ...
