Being able to reach the playoffs, out of a very competitive District 3-3A, before shocking District 4-3A champion Stanton in the playoffs the 2022-2023, Golden Tornado basketball girls turned a few heads in the high school basketball world.Now, the Golden Tornado girls hope to keep those heads turning into the 2023-2024 season, which tips off here this Saturday when they’ll host the Sweetwater Mustangs.“We’re looking for our district to be very talented again, but like our girls are starting to find out, as long as they’re willing to put in the work it’s definitely winnable,” Lamesa Coach Trenton Jones said.
