Junior retired 15 years ago after being a long-time resident of Big Spring, Texas. After retirement, Junior took on a new job as a proud and supportive grandad. He loved spending time with family more than anything, especially his grandchildren who knew him as “Opa.” He enjoyed showing his support at their choir, theater, orchestra, football, and tennis events. He also loved a good family gathering (Pachanga) as he called it. He was always ready with more than enough food for the grill, a full cooler, and enough chairs and smiles for everybody! He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorn football fan. He kept himself very busy not only with his loving family but with his constant household projects like his backyard oasis that he was very proud of and excited to show off.
Junior is survived by his sons, Michael and wife Shayla Lopez and their children Adaleigh, Zaiden, and Alexander Lopez of Lubbock, Texas, and Stephen Lopez and wife Kristin Patelunas of Brooklyn, New York; siblings, Dora Toscano of Lamesa, Texas, Teresa Rodriquez of Monahans, Texas, and Johnny Lopez and wife Margaret Lopez of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther S. Lopez; parents, Ysabel Sr. and Marciana Lopez; his siblings Flabio Lopez, Pauline Lopez, Fred Lopez, Lucia Garcia, Felipe Lopez, Sr., Rudy Lopez, Sr., Gloria Garcia, and Virginia Vasquez.
