The days when Dawson County Sheriff’s deputies have to wait until a Texas Department of Public Transportation (DPS) trooper arrives to legally remove a dangerously overloaded semi-truck off the roadways are about to end.Deputies have the authority to check the weights of semi-trucks traveling through Dawson County. They don’t have to authority to take an overloaded semi-truck out of commission.
