Joyce Burdett

    Funeral services for Joyce Burdett, 78, of Lamesa will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Ashmore Baptist Church with Bert Cooper officiating, assisted by Pastor Danny Willis. Burial will follow to Hancock Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home .
    Joyce passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, in Lubbock, TX.
    Joyce was born on July 17, 1945 in Quincy, Illinois to Richard Gabriel and Dorothy Ida (Waddell) Groh. She married Charles Lee Burdett on January 27, 1966 in Ft. Worth, Texas, they were married for 49 years. 
    Joyce is survived by her daughters, Carla Fielder of Abilene, and Tonya Moore of Lamesa; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister Jeannie Moore of Weatherford, and brothers, Garland Groh, Larry Groh, Ted Groh, and Brian Groh.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Groh; husband, Charles Lee Burdett; daughter, April Burdett Killingsworth, and grandson, Jade Jarrett.
