On Sunday, August 27, First Baptist Church of Ackerly will celebrate its 100th Anniversary. According to Pastor Stan Blevins, the worship service will begin at 10:00 am and be followed by a catered “fellowship meal.” All events will take place in the newly remodeled facilities of the church.First Baptist Church was founded in 1923 following a two-week revival meeting. Settlers from the communities of Ackerly, Flower Grove, Soash, and New Sparenburg formed the new church. Sunday School was held each Lord’s Day, and a preacher was present one Sunday of each month.
