Sara closed her eyes on this earth Saturday, July 8, 2023 and opened them anew in the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born in Lamesa, Texas on October 11, 1962 to Jake and Gloria Bingham. Sara was raised in a Christian home near Cedar Lake. She grew up riding horses and loving dogs and cats. She graduated from Loop High School and attended South Plains College.
Sara married the love of her life, Terry, on June 4, 1983. They made their home in Lubbock where they raised their two children. Sara accepted Jesus as her Savior as a little girl and was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church.
Sara graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught in the Lubbock school system for 24 years. She loved talking about teaching and always had a story to tell about her students.
Sara had a big personality and impacted everyone she met. Those who know her, know how she loved to talk. She never met a stranger. She would talk to anyone and everyone. Sara often saw beauty in the small things. To know her was to love her.
Her most precious role in life was being Terry’s wife and Tara and Austin’s mama. That is until she became NeNe. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a loving sister and a very special aunt. She has left so many memories for all to treasure. Sara will be missed beyond measure, but can never be forgotten.
Sara is survived by her husband, Terry, her daughter Tara Buxkemper and husband Drury of Lubbock; her son Austin Sansing and wife Ashton of Vega; grandsons, Daxon and Deker Buxkemper; granddaughters, Abilene and Aubryn Sansing; brother Jerry Bingham and wife Anne of Loop; sister Amy Miers and husband Scott of Lamesa; and her nieces and nephews.
Sara is now reunited with her parents.
