Economic development incentive on city council agenda

An agreement with the owner of a future restaurant on the square, a budget amendment and a request for proposals are all on the Lamesa City Council’s agenda for Tuesday evening.
Council members are meeting at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 601 S. 1st Street.
One of the items before the council is a resolution approving an economic incentive and performance agreement between the Lamesa Economic Alliance Project and Cody Sandlin, owner of the One Guy from Italy restaurant now getting under construction on the downtown square.
Council members will also consider approving an Lamesa Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) budget amendment allowing for the transfer of $7,200 in LEDC funds from its general fund account to its vacation fund. The funds will cover the two-year acquired vacation time for two full-time employees.
The council will consider voting on an ordinance amending a section of the city’s building regulations,  and on a lease agreement for a Toro Reelmaster 5510-D Triflex for use by the Parks Department.
The council will also consider calling for proposals for information technology services; and eliminating the Lamesa Municipal Golf Course fund and moving it into the public parks department’s general fund.
Council members will conduct the final public hearing on a Texas Community Development Block Grant Program for the completion of a downtown revitalization project.
They will also consider approving the second reading of a $7,004 budget amendment to cover the cost of irrigation repairs at the municipal golf course; and an ordinance on second reading to issue a specific use permit at 1102 N. Dallas for a future fabrication shop.
