After finishing their softball in the regional finals for the first time in school history, Lamesa High School’s strong one-two punch of pitcher Laila Vasquez and catcher Amaya Vasquez were reunited on the diamond with their coaches Vanessa Hernandez and Jeremy Hernandez this past weekend.The quartet helped pull of a victory Friday evening in the Greater West Texas Softball Coaches All-star Game as the South team knocked off the North, 5-1, at Wolfforth.Lamesa is a 3A high school but the Golden Tors’ representatives competed Friday in the Big School Division for 5A and 6A athletes.The South team also included players ...
